It’s estimated that there will be 1.6 million new cancer diagnoses in 2017. At least 2,000 of those are diagnosed and treated each year in our community at Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute.
Rejoicing in cures and battles won, Cancer Survivors Day has been celebrated nationally on the first Sunday in June for 30 years. This year Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute is wild about a cure and is taking the opportunity to be a part of this yearly tradition to celebrate survivors and caregivers.
Each year, more than 300 cancer patients and their families along with the staff of Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute gather to honor the perseverance and courage of all cancer survivors. If you are a cancer survivor, join us this Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Upward Star Center in Spartanburg. Four seats are reserved for each survivor and three guests. Admission is free, registration is not required.
