Cleveland Park Events Center
Falls in people ages 65 and older are among the most common injuries in that age population. As a result, many seniors are unable to live an independent lifestyle.
The Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) program is a free fall prevention program that includes a one-hour, twice-per-week group fitness class where all participants work at their own pace. Any person over the age of 50, including those that use walkers or canes, can participate in the SAIL program.
Registration is not required. Please join us at any session that fits your schedule.

Cancer Support Group: Hybrid

The Survivorship Program offers a monthly opportunity for cancer patients and survivors to connect with one another. This unique offering is available to all cancer patients and survivors at no charge.
Research shows that taking part in support groups, where you both give and receive help, is an effective way to reduce the stress and anxiety that can come with a cancer diagnosis. This support group will be led by Jen Arsenault, LCSW, LISW-CP of Therapeutic Alliance, LLC, Boiling Springs, SC.

- Commit to 36 hours/week (a.m. or p.m.)

What would I do during my student nurse internship?
- During this paid internship, you would be trained to work in a variety of roles within the healthcare system.
- The orientation and program commitment are designed to correlate with your academic schedule.
- Housing assistance can be provided and arranged by SRHS (available only in summer).

Join Dr. Janet LeFrancois, a certified yoga therapist and Iyengar yoga teacher, at the Gibbs Cancer Center Conference room in Spartanburg to practice basic to advanced yoga with a focus on cancer patients and survivors. Attendees are welcome to bring their own mats, blocks and other yoga tools to the class.
If this is your first time attending, a mat and block are provided for your use. Registration is required so that we can make space for all attendees.

Music therapy interventions can target a variety of healthcare goals such as promoting wellness, managing stress, alleviating pain, expressing feelings and emotions, enhancing memory, improving communication, promoting physical rehabilitation, sensory processing and more. This session will be hosted by Carolina Music Therapy.
This unique offering from the Survivorship Program is available to cancer survivors at no charge.

In this class, we provide the information you need to reduce anxiety and help you have a more positive birth experience. Prepared Childbirth is a comprehensive, fact-based and fun class covering various topics about your baby's birthday.
Prostate Cancer Screening-Pelham

Gibbs Cancer Center-Pelham
One in seven men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, the second most common non-skin cancer in the United States. A new case is diagnosed every 3 minutes, but if caught early enough the 5-year survival rate is 100%.
Do you qualify for this screening?
-Are you a man aged 50-70
-Have no primary care doctor
-Do not have insurance
-Have not had a PSA draw in the past year
If you meet the above criteria, you qualify for this screening. The screening consists of only a blood draw and results are provided in seven -14 days.
Registration is required for this event.
Cooking up Confidence
Thursday, March 13, 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Virtual
Cook along with various healthcare professionals from diabetes education, food services, and cardiology from the comfort of your own home.
Cooking Up Confidence is a series of four virtual cooking classes and will cover a variety of different cooking techniques to make home-prepared meals easier and fun! Recipes can be adapted to meet your family's needs.
Classes meet virtually from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. on March 13 and 27, and April 10 and 24. You can attend one class or all classes. The registration link is for all four classes.
Classes are inspired by local FoodShare Spartanburg produce boxes but are not required to participate. The recipe and grocery list will be sent out by the Friday before class.
If using a box, you will need to pre-order, purchase, and pick up a box before each class. It's easy! Box orders for the first class are due by Thursday, March 6th. More information on ordering and pickup found here.

This course prepares expectant parents for their baby's arrival. Topics include breastfeeding, diapering, bathing, and medical and safety information. A local pediatrician and a perinatal educator will lead this class.

During this comprehensive course, offered by Spartanburg Medical Center and Safe Kids of the Piedmont, you will learn about South Carolina's child passenger safety laws, the safest way to secure your child in a vehicle, proper car seat installation, when to update or replace your child's car seat and other safety tips to help keep your child safe on the road.
Attendees who have violations of the child passenger occupant law on their records can receive a certificate of completion as proof of participation. This class is only offered once for child passenger occupant violations.

Join us at noon on the third Tuesday every month for this hybrid (virtual and in-person) support group. Meetings are designed to have 30-45 minutes of training followed by 15-30 minutes of discussion. Please join the meeting then stay as long as you are able.

Cardiac Connection Celebrates National Nutrition Month

What we eat and drink is fuel for the body and mind. Join us this month as we celebrate foods that nourish with dietitians, Alexandra Lautenshlaeger and Kerri Stewart.
Cardiac Connection is a monthly community group that supports people of all ages who have experienced a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack or stroke, had surgery related to the heart or are at risk for heart disease. Relevant topics and speakers vary each month. Bring your lunch and a friend!

Weight Loss Surgery - Online Support Group

This group provides Upstate area support for patients in all phases of the weight loss surgery process. Combined with the help of friends and family members, this support group allows you to network with others who have experienced similar challenges and lifestyle changes after weight loss surgery. Colorful Cooking at Home: National Nutrition Month

Safe Kids 101 for New and Expecting Parents

This one-hour webinar includes safety topics that will help you keep your child safe and avoid accidents and injuries.
Class information includes information about basic car seat features, installation techniques and how to choose an appropriate car seat based on your child's age, height and weight.
Learn ways to avoid accidents in the home involving fire, burns, drowning, falls and poisonings. Know how to identify safe and unsafe sleep environments for your baby.
