Everything stops except the pain.

Migraine headaches alter a person's daily life and makes the sufferer sensitive to light and sound. They can be triggered by anything – stress, weather, certain smells or foods.

When the pain comes, what's happening in a migraine sufferer's head? And how can the sufferer make it stop?

Doctors at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System offer a treatment that provides immediate relief for many patients. Called SPG blockage, Spartanburg Regional doctors use a catheter known as a SphenoCath.

Learn more about the procedure in this Discover Health video segment, which aired originally on FOX Carolina.
