Regional One Air Medical celebrates 20 years of service
Friends and family gathered outside the Regional One Air Medical helipad in May to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the air-med service.
Leaders, associates and those who have had a hand in Regional One’s successes gathered during an afternoon over hot dogs and door prizes.
Since 2003, Regional One has served Spartanburg County and the surrounding areas with air-med services and transported over 6,000 patients.
Regional One Program Director Chad Kellum is amazed at the service’s evolution over the last two decades.
“We truly are a flying ICU,” Kellum said.
Some of Regional One’s advancements in care have been in heart, stroke and trauma health.
“Our most proud moment would be when we were recognized by our peers in the South Carolina EMS Association as the 2010 EMS System of the Year,” Kellum recounted.
Through 20 years of service, Spartanburg Regional and Regional One have maintained a strong relationship in quality care.
Thanks to the partnership between first responders, EMS crew and flight medics, Regional One looks forward to caring for the community for many years to come.
