Spartanburg Regional, Humana Healthy Horizons partner to offer families in-network Medicaid option
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 12, 2024) – Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System and Humana Healthy Horizons are working together to give healthcare system patients a new in-network Medicaid option in South Carolina.
An agreement between the two organizations is enabling them to collaborate and improve health outcomes for patients enrolled in Humana Healthy Horizons while ensuring access to cost-effective services. The agreement ensures Humana Healthy Horizons members will have in-network access to Spartanburg Regional’s hospitals, facilities, and affiliated physicians.
“We appreciate our relationship with Humana and look forward to improving the overall health of our community together,” said Paul Butler, senior vice president, Spartanburg Regional.
During more than two decades of serving people with Medicaid, Humana and Humana Healthy Horizons have developed a wide range of capabilities to deliver care to the communities they serve. The whole-person approach integrates physical health, behavioral health, pharmacy, long-term care, and social services.
“We are committed to ensuring our members in and around Spartanburg have access to quality healthcare,” said Dietrick Williams, President, Humana Healthy Horizons in South Carolina. “Through our collaboration with Spartanburg Regional, we’re expanding provider options for the people we serve.”
The new in-network Medicaid option builds on a longstanding relationship between Spartanburg Regional and Humana Healthy Horizons in South Carolina. Together, they work to address the health-related social needs impacting mothers and children through Safe Kids of the Piedmont, which is led by Spartanburg Regional. On July 20, Humana Healthy Horizons sponsored a Safe Kids Baby Shower at the Spartanburg Public Library. New and expectant parents were invited to drop by and pick up essentials, including car seats and diapers.
